DRUGS FROM ABROAD: Voting 243 for and 186 against, the House on
July 25 passed a bill (HR 2427) to allow U.S. consumers, pharmacies
and wholesalers to buy U.S.-manufactured, federally approved drugs
from Food and Drug Administration-certified outlets in Canada,
Europe and seven other countries. Because of price controls
overseas, U.S. drugs typically cost much less on foreign markets.
The issue is now before the Senate.

A yes vote was to pass the bill.
