Voterama In Congress

During the Watergate scandal an alarmed public demanded increased scrutiny of both Congress and the White House. In response, newspapers began more vigilant D.C. coverage, and several independent news services, including this one, were established to aid that effort. We first published in July 1973. We count several charter subscribers as current subscribers.

Today, with crises collectively far worse than Watergate facing the United States, and with traditional newspapers one of many media covering U.S. politics, we continue to report the key facts editors and readers need to hold individual lawmakers answerable for their stands. We believe more than ever that every serious news organization in America owes its readers this basic level of congressional-accountability coverage.

We provide Digital Subscribers with a continually updated Key Votes Page plus daily RSS feeds of late-breaking stories on the U.S. lawmakers they specify. Newsprint Subscribers receive our coverage Friday afternoons in either straight text (long and short formats) or a paginated graphic tailored to specified lawmakers.
